  • Community Meme

This is exciting! My first meme!

    Community Network Meme

    1. If you could interview anyone on your blog (alive or dead) who would you chose and why?

Oprah of course. She's leaving free TV for cable in less than two months and I would love to get her to dish on the future.

    2. What do you feel is your strength as a blogger?

If I have a strength it would probably be my naivety. I really don't know what I'm doing so maybe that helps.

    3. Can you share a little bit about yourself that you have not already mentioned on your blog?

I'm really shy! Don't expect me to share sensitive material!

    4. If you were forced to change the name of your blog, what would you change it to? Why?

Private Eyes. I'm a big Hall & Oates fan and like I said before, I am super shy.

    5. What do you think is the most fulfilling part of being a blogger?

I don't know yet. I only have two posts and five people that I am friends with on Xanga. I also visit Tom's blog but so far not really fulfilling.

    6. What would you do with your last day if you found you had only one more day to live?

First I would skydive and then spend the rest of the day with friends and family eating all my favorite foods and holding back the tears.

    7. You’ve been doing medical research for decades and have finally found a cure. What was it that you found a cure for and why did you choose this particular ailment?

Autism is the illness I would want to cure. I know quite a few people who are afflicted with asperger's and autism.

    8. What is your most guilty pleasure?

Chocolate. Dark chocolate to be more specific. I think all women love chocolate especially when my friend visits once a month. I guess that was way too much information coming from a shy person, but it just came out.

    9. Answer only one. What is your favorite book, movie or TV show?

Favorite TV show is Law & Order. All of them even Law & Order UK. Great crime dramas.

    10. What do you think is the very best smell in the world? The one smell that can take you back to a time and place of a very vivid memory in your past?

The smell of roses makes me think of my childhood friends. It's the best smell and my best time of my life so far.

  • Versatile Blogger Award

Certainly I haven't done anything to make this blog worthy of this award -- but I'll take it! Thanks Tom and I apologize but I don't have many people that I can give it to. Also, I don't feel like answering the seven questions that are required.

Copy and paste this award onto your blog!

    My List

    PlanetLovee

    JackieLovesYou

    FabulousClown

    HollywoodFever91

If you want to participate, you need to pass this onto 15 bloggers and also list 7 things about you that people don't already know. You four guys really deserve this award. I don't think I do.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

  • Community Network Meme

I'm really excited to be a part of this. I hope there are people here who will join me!

    Re-posted from Tom Baker's blog

Creating a post every day, every other day or even once a week can be a daunting task. We are being pulled in many directions by friends and family, work, stress, fatigue, school, children, writer’s block, fear and the list goes on. Everyone who blogs has their own network of people who have visited and sometimes commented. That is your network, your personal blogging community.

Most times a blogger’s personal community of visitors and commentary stick to their own network. That means they do not interact with the personal community of other bloggers. In other words the people who visit your blog will not visit my blog just because you do. People coming to your blog will not necessarily visit the sites on your blogroll. So, everyone has their separate little network.

I’m not trying to change that, it’s just a fact of life that there are cliques even in the blogging community. What I was thinking though, is a community blog post. Before you click out of this post thinking I’m crazy, here me out… I just learned that there is a name to what I am proposing. It’s called a meme, (pronounced ‘meem)’. A meme is contagious content that spreads quickly throughout the Internet and gets the attention of many web users especially on social networks like Facebook. As a matter of fact, a meme spread through Facebook last year. Females were posting the color of the bra and panties and none of us males had any idea what the colors meant. Some of us guys are still without an idea!

I want with your help, to create “meme-like” content passed on from one blogger to another blogger. The difference is I want this planned ahead of time so that as many bloggers who want to participate, can do so; all of us on the same day and time. The numbers could be in the thousands if everyone on your blogroll takes part, and everyone on their blogroll, and so on and so on.

Suppose I asked five bloggers to participate in a community post where we all came together to answer a questionnaire. You have ten bloggers that regularly visit your blog and you ask them to participate as well. They in turn ask their friends and visitors and so on and so on.

What we would need is a group of questions, a set day to post the comment and a cumulative list of all the blogs that are willing to participate. Everyone schedules the post for that day and time and there is a potential for hundreds if not thousands of new visitors for every blog on the list. New visitors, new readers and potentially new friends. I have chosen December 12th as the date because it is far enough away for all who want to participate, to do so and it gives you the ability to get your answers finished.

If you think this is worthwhile or just a fun idea, just repost this onto your blog as soon as possible in it’s entirety. Email everyone you know who has a blog and might also be interested in this. Ask each person who is a firm commitment to add their name and blog’s name to the master list. Everyone will need to include the list in it’s entirety to their post so everyone will have the same list on their site and everyone has an equal chance at exposure.

    Rules of Participation

You must agree to the Community Network MeMe date which is December 12, 2010 at 12:01.
You must agree that on December 12th you will visit at least five blog links that you have never visited before and leave a comment on their responses (my site, Quianna's Blog, not included). Replace my site with your site.
You must answer each of the ten questions and with more than a simple yes or no response.
You must post the entire Master Meme Blog List of blogs participating regardless of how long the list may grow to be below your answered questions. (Please continuously update the list).
You must title your post the same as everyone else, “Community Network Meme”.
You must promote the Community Network Meme at least once on Facebook or some other form of social media, even if it is just your own blog to get even more bloggers to participate. Provide the link back to your original post so they can post this in its entirety, just like we did.
If you would like to participate and write the post in your language and not English, feel free to translate it or you could post both translations.
Make sure to either vote for or like the post appropriately.

  • Not Just New To Blogging But To The Internet Too

Not Just New To Blogging But To The Internet Too

I don't know where to begin. I was never really interested in computers but one day I was sitting on the bus. Sitting next to me was a young man on his laptop blogging. I struck a conversation with him and he told me he was adding a post to his site and also reviewing other sites he visits. I'd kept a diary when I was younger and the thought of updating it but with a private online journal would be interesting. So, here I am.

Most of my posts will be kept private and protected but when my thoughts overflow, I will post more like this. I am also here to make lots of friends, so if anyone is interested.... I'll be visiting your sites as well. Thanks for reading. TTFN
